Our music program is designed so that ALL students can become adults who are: tuneful, beatful and artful. Our goal is that that by age 30 your students will be adults who are: *Tuneful- can sing "Happy Birthday" at birthday parties. Sing the national anthem, alma maters and songs of worship. Beatful- can rock their baby on the beat as they sing a lullaby, dance at weddings or parties, and clap their hands in time at sporting events or concerts. Artful- they are moved by music and seek out musical experiences to share with others such as attending concerts, participating in a band, choir or orchestra and listening to classical music. These adults are able to respond emotionally to music. Tuneful, beatful and artful people create strong communities as they are able to join their voices together, dance together, and share beautiful music with one another. Children who learn to do these things before the leave elementary school will grow into adults who can benefit from what music has to offer.* *from First Steps in Music by Dr. John Feierabend* All students attend music every other week for 50 minutes. Students are also provided with the option to join Keyboard Club or Chorus. These groups meet afterschool from 2:45-3:45. Sign-up information will be posted in August (for keyboard) and December (for chorus). Sonatinas- Keyboard Club for grades K-2 (Sep.-Dec.) Sonatas- Keyboard Club for grades 3-5 (Sep.-Dec.)
